Three Dog Bakery’s ‘DOGust’ fundraiser supports nonprofit animal rescues

Three Dog Bakery has released the results of its 2022 DOGust fundraiser for animal rescue organizations, including $19,883 donated to 33 nonprofit animal rescues across the United States. This total is almost 25% higher than last year for the same fundraiser.1

DOGust, on August 1 each year, is nationally recognized as the unofficial birthday celebration for all shelter dogs whose birthday is unknown. Last August, Three Dog Bakery locations nationwide encouraged dog owners to support rescues and shelters in the communities served by its bakeries by purchasing DOGust-themed bandanas. Additionally, Three Dog Bakery locations donated large dog-friendly bone-shaped cakes to its local rescue shelters for dogs to celebrate their birthdays.

Recipients of Three Dog Bakery donations included the Bella Vista Animal Shelter in Bentonville, Arkansas; Big Dogs Huge Paws in Denver, Colorado; and the Indianapolis Humane Society in Indianapolis, Indiana. Each shelter received over $1,000 in contributions. Customers of Three Dog Bakery in Noblesville, Indiana, donated more than $2,000 to support Humane Society of Hamilton County rescue dogs in Fishers, Indiana.

“We deeply appreciate the generosity of our Three Dog Bakery customer families who helped us raise funds to support shelters and rescue dogs during our DOGust campaign,” Ally Homa, the bakery’s chief marketing officer, said in a company statement.1

“We are thrilled to have been able to make DOGust a birthday party for all of the dogs who have found their forever homes and those awaiting adoption at shelters and shelters across the United States,” said- she concluded.
