Tarboro police are looking for the man who allegedly shot a dog


TARBORO, North Carolina – On Friday, Tarboro police were looking for a man who neighbors said had shot their dog.

Police say residents of a home in the 400 block of Chestnut Street told them Ladarius Devon Powell, 31, had previously complained about the dog and that on Thursday night he came into their home and killed him shot with a handgun. Residents said the dog was restrained at the time and several family members, including children, were present and witnessed the attack.

Powell, who is on probation and has a criminal history that included assault convictions, is wanted in this situation for possession of a firearm by a felon, cruelty to animals and discharge of a weapon in the city ​​limits. Anyone who knows where Powell is should call the police.
