Police save dog walker from at least 9 aggressive coyotes – KIRO 7 News Seattle

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. — A dog walker had to call police in northeast Massachusetts on Saturday night after a group of coyotes refused to back down after circling them.

A Swampscott resident was walking his dog in a suburban neighborhood when a large group of coyotes appeared. Unable to scare them off, he called the Swampscott Police Department for help, according to WFXT-TV.

According to police, they spotted at least nine coyotes.

“Luckily, these coyotes seemed spooked by the oncoming cruisers and strobe lights,” police told WFXT.

Police escorted the man and his dog home after the incident.

The Swampscott Police Department reminded residents to be aware of their surroundings at night when coyotes are most active and posted tips for managing coyotes on a Facebook post.
