NORTH BRUNSWICK – Dogs of all breeds will occupy the open fields of North Brunswick Community Park for a day dedicated to “man’s best friend”.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 25, the North Brunswick Human Association (NBHA) will host its 18th Annual Dog Walk-A-Thon & Adoption Day.
Registration is required for dogs entering the event, but registration is not required for adoptions. All registrants will receive a courtesy gift bag.
Dogs will have the opportunity to compete for prizes in friendly activities that include a scavenger hunt, musical carpets and a costume contest where dogs can parade in the Parade of Pooches.
Participants looking for a furry companion will be greeted at Rescue Row, where various dogs from local shelters and shelters will be waiting.
Several dog vendors and information booths will be present for those wishing to learn more about available pet products and services.
The event will also feature musical entertainment and food from Big John’s Gourmet Burgers and Los 3 Reyes Ice Cream.
As a non-profit organization, the NBHA has focused on educating the Greater Brunswick area about the humane treatment of animals with respect to pet ownership, adoption practices and the protection of stray animals.
“Through our networking, we partner with local shelters and shelters to provide adoption locations, subsidize neutering costs, and provide other support to disenfranchised animals in our community,” according to the NBHA.
“We also collect and distribute pet food to shelters and colony caretakers, help find lost animals, provide humane education and promote policies to protect animals and strengthen penalties for related violations. To animals. We rely 100% on volunteers and donations.
