Dog putting Lunenburg man in intensive care shot dead by police
The victim, who was previously unnamed, was identified at the fundraiser as Wayne Comeau. Comeau at the city’s animal control center was attacked by the dog, who bit him multiple times and then wouldn’t let go of his arm, until police arrived and shot the dog. They had “no other alternatives available”, police said.
Comeau underwent surgery and his recovery was stable in intensive care on Tuesday. The fundraiser aims to “help with expenses for the next two months as Wayne recovers from this horrific ordeal”.
Released on Wednesday, the fundraiser had raised $8,000 from 120 donors by Thursday morning. The fundraiser has a goal of $10,000.
