A dog called Maroni has gone viral for making crunching noises while eating his owner’s crisps on the couch and then staring at her with no ‘regrets’.
In a post shared on TikTok last Wednesday, the dog’s owner, @Maroni_is_resting, filmed the dachshund eating chips from a bag left on the sofa, making cracking noises.
The video, which has received over 1.5 million views, comes with a caption that reads, “What you’ll find if you follow the crunch.”
According to the dog health blog, Dog Time, dogs shouldn’t eat potato chips. While they can safely eat potato chips, it depends on how much they eat and it’s still not good for them.
Although dogs may be fine after eating a few crisps, these snacks offer no nutritional value and contain many processed ingredients that can lead to health issues in dogs.
Potato chips aren’t healthy for your dog because they contain a lot of processed oil, fat, and sodium, “none of which contributes in any beneficial way to your dog’s health,” according to the blog. They are also high in carbs, and while this can give your dog an energy boost, it can cause him to gain unwanted weight in the process.
The post has gone viral since it was first posted on the platform and has so far received over 142,800 likes, 864 comments and 10,400 shares.
One user said, “That confidence when he looks at you and keeps chewing.”
Another joked, “Oh hey you know you should try these, they’re so awesome.”
A third user pointed out, “Why do they all look the same when they’re doing something they shouldn’t be?”
While the fourth commented: ‘Be careful many dogs have choked because they got stuck in bags of crisps.’
