Dog missing after car stolen during woman’s trip to the Bronx for her funeral – NBC New York

A New Jersey woman is desperate for Basil, her emotional support dog taken from her stolen car while she was in the Bronx on Friday for a funeral.

The woman suspects her dog was released after her car was swept away near Boston Road and found abandoned without the keys a short time later on East 137th Street.

Basil, a trained emotional support dog, is just one year old and was set to reach a full year with owner later this month.

The woman, from Garden State, said she was in town for a funeral and got out of her car because she was not feeling well when a car thief found their opening.

Basil may be at large running around the borough after the car thief left the vehicle abandoned on Friday, the woman believes.
