Assisi Angels rescue 15 dogs from abusive conditions

ROANOKE, Va. – 15 dogs now have a chance of a happy and healthy life after being rescued by the Angels of Assisi on Monday.

The dogs lived in makeshift kennels and many were chained or tied up in the backyard of the house.

Many shelters in the area are at capacity, but fortunately Angels of Assisi is able to keep dogs.

The Assisi Angels said many dogs had never been inside until they were rescued.

“Some of them were in enclosures, others were tied to makeshift kennels or kennels,” Angels of Assisi spokeswoman Dayna Reynolds said. “And they were just in a rural area. We think people just went over their heads so they get help and we help the animals.

The dogs are being neutered and neutered, as well as given injections and vaccinations, but many will be available for adoption as early as this weekend.
