NORTHAMPTON — Police have found a missing elderly person who fell on an embankment Monday night and spent hours screaming for help.
At around 9.30pm, officers arrived at a house in South Street to help the resident find her husband. He had left three hours before walking the dog, a task that usually takes half an hour, police said in a social media post.
Police said the resident said the dog returned “with his leash in tow, minus his owner,” an 84-year-old man with limited mobility who uses a cane.
‘Officers searched the area and were able to locate the owner within minutes,’ police said, finding he had fallen down a steep 20ft embankment in the woods and was trying to get attention.
Northampton Fire Rescue took the man to Cooley Dickinson Hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
